The visa allows foreigners to stay in Thailand if they are:
Legally married to a Thai citizen (evidenced with a Kor Ror 2 / Kor Ror 22 for abroad marriages).
OR
The parent of a Thai child.
ORThe child of a Thai national / legally adopted child of a Thai national
ORThere are also options for non-Thai family members to join non-Thai expatriate workers.
There are numerous scenarios that may qualify for this visa, however these are the most common.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for a Visa, applicants must meet the following conditions:
For Marriage Visa (Thai Spouse):
Legally married to a Thai citizen (marriage certificate required).
Proof of financial means:
A bank deposit of at least 400,000 Thai Baht in a Thai bank account
ORA monthly income of at least 40,000 Thai Baht.
For Family Visa (Thai Child):
Legal parent or guardian of a Thai child (birth certificate required).
Proof of financial means similar to the Marriage Visa requirements.
For Family Visa (Child of a Thai):
Legal child of a Thai national.
For Family Members of an expatriate (Non-Thai)
Close family member of the main expatriate
Required Documents
If Married to a Thai Citizen:
Invitation letter from your spouse indicating that you both are still married and he/she acknowledges your visit
Marriage Certificate: Official document showing legal marriage to a Thai citizen.
ID Card and House Registration: Copies of your Thai spouse’s ID card and house registration (Tabien Baan).
Financial proof: Either:
Bank deposit of at least 400,000 THB, or
Monthly income of at least 40,000 THB, supported by proof such as a pension statement or salary slip.
Photos: A set of family photos showing you and your spouse together in your home.
If You Have a Thai Child:
Child’s Birth Certificate: Official document showing you are the parent.
ID Card and House Registration: Copies of your child’s Thai ID card (if applicable) and house registration.
Financial Proof: Same as above (400,000 THB in savings or 40,000 THB monthly income).
If You are the child of a Thai:
ID Card and House Registration: Copies of your parent's Thai ID card
If You are the family member of an expatriate the requirements vary dependent on each individual application.
For all applicants:
Details of accommodation in Thailand
Passport: Valid for at least 6 months.

Travel to Thailand to activate the 90-Day Non-Immigrant O Visa.
Prepare Required Documents for the Visa:
During the final 30 days of your 90-day permit to stay, gather all necessary documents, including relationship certificates, financial proofs, and relevant evidence of relationship.
Submit Your Visa Extension Application:
Visit the local Thai Immigration Office in your province to submit the application. Ensure all documents are complete to avoid delays.
Processing can take up to one month.
Alternative Pathways:
